Pendragon Forms Case Study

Medical Billing

Scenario:

Pendragon Forms is used to collect cardiology patient visit and procedure billing information.

Case Study
Developer/Location:

Charles R. Caldwell, M.D.

Central Arkansas Cardiology

Customer Quote:

"I'm using Pendragon forms to perform my cardiology patient visit and procedure billing and to collect this information in a database. We are hoping to directly integrate the database into our medical billing software soon. I'm in the process of designing forms for office procedures that will enable data collection with the immediate generation of a procedure report."

Forms Development Time:

The first forms were built in 15-20 minutes. Later more complex forms were built in under an hour.

Installation:

Very easy installation and learning curve.

Before Pendragon Forms:

Before Pendragon Forms, the billing was done manually by the physician on cards that were turned into the billing office. The office procedure reports were generated by a dictated report and required the services of a transcriptionist. The billing cards were very difficult to read sometimes (doctor's handwriting) and had to be kept in a file for later access which was very cumbersome.

Benefits:

It allows collection of billing and diagnosis data in a single database that can later be easily accessed. It prevents the problems associated with recognition of a handwritten cards. Because data is entered by the physician at the time of service, it allows for accurate coding and diagnosis information.

Estimated ROI:

"This is difficult to estimate but it certainly has made life easier for my billing clerks who have to enter the data. If we can further integrate the data directly into our billing software with a mere confirmation window it would allow one person in our office to do the billing work of three previous workers. An immediate savings of around $40,000."
